It was a joyous moment and air of a new dawn as five graduating students from the department of Mechanical engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, yesterday presented a formular 1 car made with materials locally sourced to the vice chancellor and the university community.

The staff and students present at the administrative block stood in bewilderment when one of the students drove the formular 1 car to the admin block to the admiration of all.
The names of the student engineers include:- Okoyenta Augustus
- Okeke Chukwuebuka
- Ofoegbu Kenechukwu
- Ibekwe Ebeneezer and
- Ezeani Chikeluba.
The initiator and leader of the group, Augustus Okoyenta disclosed that the sports car which was the project chosen by the five was a dream come true recalling the series of tedious work and sleepless nights encountered by him and his colleagues.
The project supervisor, Dr. Solomon Nwigbo said the project took them two years to design, work on and complete. He further disclosed that the students already made A's in their project defence.
In his remark, the vice chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku described the project as a landmark achievement for the university and worthy of celebration. He congratulated the students for achieving such a height at this tender age. Prof. Ahaneku stated that the university would sponsor the students to Abuja in December for the exhibition.
