Chief Osita Chidoka (OFR) - WE MUST STOP APPLYING YESTERDAY'S SOLUTIONS TO CURRENT CHALLENGES - LET THE YOUNG MINDS TAKE OVER. (Media Interactive Session with Chidoka)
Chief Osita Chidoka (OFR), the Obosi born renowned politician, former Federal Road Safety Corp Commander in Nigeria and the immediate past Minister for Aviation on Wednesday 14th June 2017 at his country home in Obosi held a Media Interactive Session termed: "A Day with the Media".
The interactive session held at THOMAS CHIDOKA ICT CENTRE OBOSI had media practitioners from all the media houses in the State ably in attendance.
The media session provided an opportunity for the press men to engage actively the former Minister of Aviation on some trending issues in the country and especially his intentions to run for the Governorship election come November 18 this year under the platform United Progressive Party (UPP).
The former Minister for Aviation who tactically and extensively did Justice to various questions thrown at him by journalists never disappointed as he takes each question head on.
The UPP Guber candidate come Nov 18 in Anambra State outlined his 5 points fundamental reasons for his decision to run for the governorship election come November. His desires includes, thou not limited to:
1. An extensive personal and collective consultation devoid of primordial sentiments to run a visionary and transparent community based government driven only by the genuine aspiration of Ndi Anambra.
2. An extensive personal and collective consultation devoid of primordial sentiments to create an effective, developments - oriented administration that will harness and ensure prudent management of our resources to deliver value and improve the quality of life of our people - Ndi Anambra.
3. An extensive personal and collective consultation devoid of primordial sentiments to deliver a true wealth - creating state that will be a Leader in innovation, good governance and infrastructural development in Nigeria.
4. An extensive personal and collective consultations devoid of primordial sentiments to restore the glory of the state as a commercial hub in the African sub - region and transition to a knowledge economy and technological hub.
5. An extensive personal and collective consultations devoid of primordial sentiments to secure the future of our children by redirecting our energies to productive engagements rather than primordial sentiments that divide us as people especially politically and during political process.
HEAR HIM:
The question confronting us today is how do we deal with the cocktail of issues glaringly steering us in the face begging for solutions. We must stop applying yesteryears solutions to solving current challenges.
The World has grown and developed far beyond our expectations and we cannot be found wanting or lagging behind. Applying yesterdays solutions to today's challenges is like what you call in the local parlance -beating around the bush yet busy doing nothing.
We must concentrate on value delivery to Ndi Anambra, by working out better robust schemes through first class creative thinking and engagement by seriously and actively engaging the young minds ie the creative minds of the resourceful young people in the state who has made their marks in their various professions and field.
The young people are taking over globally, we must have a serious conscious deep creative rethink of our political architecture in Anambra state, hence my decision to run for the gubernatorial election come November 18. We cannot keep applying yesteryears solutions and expect a miracle. Our solutions does not or must not necessarily be hinged on our political divisive sentiments, the world has grown past that, government and governance must be anchored on allowing competent and competency at all levels applying creative thinking.
The challenges of our state, Anambra State cannot be solved or cannot answer to zoning or denominational sentiments. NOTA BENE: The sick child battling for his life does not know zoning sentiments, all he wants is good medical care. Our erosion threatened communities would not succumb to zoning sentiments, but rather a robust schemes and partnership to solving the erosion menace in the community and so on.
Gentlemen of the press, Ndi Anambra are resourceful and ingenious and need a new spirit of proficiency, e energy and inner commitment to resurge the wealth creating inventiveness of our people. We have come to take over - young creative minds. Look at the trend now globally, the young minds are taking over, the old crowd should go back to retirement and give way for the innovative young minds. My aspiration is anchored on a shared collective, creative and innovative leadership mindset and value creation. The power of the young, creative and resourceful youths of our dear state must be put into great use and advantage to the state for a better and secured future. We can no longer wait any longer. Borrowing the words of Martin Luther King: "We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is now and here today with us". Is time for vigorous and positive action by the young people for a better future for Ndi Anambra. Go to YABA in Lagos and find out the number of young Igbo men there and find out how many of them are from Anambra. We want to bring these young men back home but we must as a matter of urgency show serious determination and commitment to create and build a workable environment to attract them home. Nigeria is planning on building 10,000 Mega Watts of electricity but no Engrs to manage it but go around the world and see Nigerian Engrs scattered across the globe.
We need to think home and think outside the box and creatively, constructively and innovatively too. That only can guarantee the new society and new Anambra state of our dream so as to compete favourably with the emerging global powers.
All my life, innovative thinking has placed me high above every situation and am here today to engage our youths to chat a new Anambra through apt innovative thinking. For my Victory come November 18, I believe in no political God father, I believe in no recommendation, it has never worked for me all my life, from my NYSC till date, I study and observe every situation and work my way to the top, hence my resolve to take over the state through youthful engagement. My target and focal points are the youths, the civic minded and middles class who actually has the voting power.
On a final note: "Ndi Anambra, anyi ga eji uche, uchu na egwu Chukwu wee dozie obodo anyi". One with God is majority.
