BUHARI:
A SAINT LEADER AND HIS LEAKING ROOF.
When you derisively tease a cripple that his head luggage is awkwardly positioned, he too will politely highlight your naivete, telling you: take your gaze off the upper part of my torso and take a look at the lower part.
Where am I going? I always tell all Buhari supporters around me that what we are facing is failure of leadership in a pluralistic society. But I think it goes deeper. The Kachikwu-Baru saga has again shown that what we have in Aso Rock is house divided against itself.
Check these out:
* The National Security Adviser and the Director-General of DSS are not on speaking terms. You may do your findings.
* Buhari sent Magu's name to Senate for confirmation, the DSS wrote a damning report against him. They didn't even send to their overall boss, the President, they sent to the Senate.
* Abba Kyari and the Attorney-General of the Federation are not the best of friends. (Malami, Magu are for the NSA while Kari and Daura (the Aso Rock enforcer, are with the DSS boss). Again, do your findings.
* Babachir Lawal was suspended and the question he asked: "Which Presidency?"
* Amaechi and Saraki don't talk to each other. Two leading lights of a ruling party.
* Bola Tinubu, arguably the man responsible for the "recreation" of Buhari, will need a Google Map before he can locate the APC National Secretariat nowadays. He currently licks his political wounds somewhere in Lagos.
* The Minister of State for Education, still bitter that he was put under someone so inferior to him in all aspects except where he comes from, is reportedly marking time and has vowed not to contribute anything to the sector despite his intimidating CV.
* Now, Kachikwu has made us know that in the oil sector, trouble is the second name.
Now this...
Olusegun Okikiola Obasanjo was effectively in charge. He rose beyond ethnic and religious loyalties to deal with any act of insubordination in his government. No matter his relationship with you, you would be a goner if you crossed the red line. You never saw glaring divisions in his government. Did they not rise? Oh they did.
BUT THEY WERE EFFECTIVELY DEALT WITH!
Ask Tafa Balogun. You may ask the family of the late SM Afolabi. I can go on and on
Even the one they called clueless never had officials of government working at cross purposes. You could see that in the management of the economy and other critical sectors.
Under the current saint leader, you have a government in disarray. The only positive song (at least to his brainwashed supporters) is mentioning Diezani and Patience Jonathan's name everyday. As Olusegun Adeniyi wrote, "that is what the anti-corruption war has been reduced to."
And yet ma folks would be using their data to defend absurdities. Nawaaaoooo!
