Ahead of the flag off of the People's Democratic Party tomorrow at Onitsha, it's pertinent I inform you about Barr. Chidi Alexandra Onyemelukwe (Nee Ekwueme) the running mate of His. Honor Mr. Oseloka Henry Obaze, the flagbearer of the People's Democratic Party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Barr. Chidi is indeed the truth definition of beauty with brains. She can comfortably win not just the finest Deputy Governor in West Africa but then the most qualified. Barr. Chidi, a lady of the Anglican Diocese is an old girl of the prestigious Queen College Lagos where she finished in very good grades. She obtained her degree in Law from University Of Wales in UK and was called to Bar in Nigeria in the Year 1990 after the mandatory one year at the Nigerian law school. She has a Masters in Buisness Administration from the University of Lagos and also a masters degree in International law and diplomacy from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh.
She worked briefly in the academia as an adjunct Prof. Of Finance in Florida USA before joining the Public Service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria where she served President Olusegun Obasanjo as the Special Adviser on Small and Medium term Enterprises (SME) from 1999-2003. She was instrumental in drawing up the master plan for the small and medium enterprises which on implementation then was responsible over 70% of the job created in the industrial sector of Nigeria. She was also Chairman, Board of Directors of the Federal Housing Authority.
She is a silent philanthropist. She has through the Otu Obi Ebere, a charity group aided a lot of indigent people in the society.
Barr. Chidi Onyemelukwe is happily married with 5 children to Prof. Okey Onyemelukwe from Nnewichi, Nnewi.
Barr. Chidi Onyemelukwe brings to the table, her vast experiences garnered from over a decade of service in the Federal government most especially the small and median Enterprises. With her as the Deputy Governor of our state, our small and medium enterprises will thrive and more jobs will be created for Anambrarians and the rate of unemployment in the State will be reduced. Her experiences in the Federal Housing Authority will be instrumental in achieving the welfare housing scheme of His Honor Mr. Oseloka Henry Obaze.
She also has a track record of dedication and is known by her colleagues for her uncompromising integrity which is what Anambra State needs.
Before I forget, permit me to also inform you that she is a daughter of the soil. She is Alexandria, the Female Version of her father Alexander Ekwueme, a former vice-president Of Nigeria and one of the founding fathers of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
