ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND DIARY :
In order to further stem the tide of crime and Criminality in the State, the Anambra State Police Command has during the week under review recorded the following breakthrough in its ongoing fight against Crime in the State.
1.ARREST OF SUSPECTED CULTIST AND UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM.On the 16/09/2018 at about 5:30pm,followig intelligence report, Police operatives attached to Special Anti Cult Unit arrested one Chukwuneye Nnweke 'm' aged 20 years of Umuaugbu village ,Awka South LGA of Anambra State at Nise Village during a New yam festival organised by the Community.
Suspect belonged to a Secret cult group known as Vikings Confraternity and has made useful Confession that will aid Police investigation.
Meanwhile, one locally made double barrel pistol, one live cartridge and one expended cartridge was recovered from him.Case under investigation.
2.ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER AND RECOVERY OF ARM/AMMUNITION.On the 17/9/2018 at 10am, while on Stop and Search duty at Iweka road,Police Patrol team arrested one Austin Oforji male aged 39years of NO.6 Udodi Street, Onitsha.
Suspect was arrested with a locally made revolver Pistol and Eight Cartridges recovered from his travelling bag.
Preliminary investigation revealed that suspect was a vigilante man attached to Main Market Onitsha.
3.ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS: On the 16/9/18 at 12:15pm, One Chijioke Offorkalu male of Okpoko, Ogbaru LGA of Anambra State was arrested.
Suspect along with his accomplice one Chukwudalu Amota male of Umuota Obosi now at large Attacked a trailer driver one Chukwunonsor Okeke male of Ikenga Ogidi and tried to dispossess him of his money and other valuables at Idemili over head bridge but were arrested by Police Patrol team attached to Obosi Division who responded swiftly following a distress call.
Meanwhile, exhibits recovered includes one Motorcycle and one dagger.Efforts is on going to apprehend other fleeing suspect.
In a related development,on the 17/9/18 at about 2:30pm,Police detectives attached to Obosi Division in Collaboration with vigilante group in the Area arrested a notorious Criminal one Ebuka Ogbonna AKA Nwangboro male of little Wood Estate Obosi.
Suspect who has been on a Police wanted list was arrested along Mmakwum road Obosi following a tip-off.
4.IMPERSONATION AND OBTAINING UNDER FALSE PRETENSE:On the 13/09/2018 at about 9pm,Police detectives attached to Ogidi division arrested one Bernard Emmanuel male aged 42 years of Ogbu Abatete.
Suspect fraudulently defrauded one Okafor Ejike Kingsley male of Anam Street and obtained money sum of One hundred and thirty five thousand naira (#135,000 ) from him under false pretense that he is working at IGP Intelligence response unit Abuja.
Meanwhile, search warrant was executed at the suspect residence and some classified document purported to have been originated from the Force headquarters Abuja were found in his possession.All Cases are under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution please.
