Ayika Hosts Security Operatives
....Promises Better Welfare Packages

The Honorable member representing Anaocha/Dunukofia/Njikoka Federal Constituency, Hon. Valentine Ayika,
has charged security operatives to brace up to the new challenge and live up to expectations.
Hon. Ayika who gave the charge during an Interactive Security Meeting held at his residence on Monday, 5 August, 2019.
The Security Interactive Meeting had 4 Divisional Police Officers in the constituency; Anaocha, Dunukofia, Njikoka and Nimo and all the Vigilante Operatives in the 22 communities in the constituency in attendance.
Hon. Ayika noted that the security challenges facing the Nation and his resolve to keep a close check and open door relationship with the grassroots prompted the need and importance of the meeting.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Divisional Police Officer for Abagana, SP Ezejiofor thanked the Honorable member for the initiative and asked him to make the interactive session a periodic one.
Ezejiofor while extolling the lawmaker charged the Vigilante Operatives to get a copy of the law guiding their operations and acquaint themselves with the law.
He warned against bad eggs in the vigilante, especially those in the habit of sabotaging the efforts of the police and the vigilante groups, assuring that he would not spare such individuals once the report gets to his table under his jurisdiction.
He noted that the worse thing that could happen to any security operation was double standard and sabotage.
Prophet Favour Okwudili (HIGH-THUNDER) thanked Hon. Ayika, noting that he had never seen such idea in the state by any Representative, pointing out how important security is to the peaceful co-existence of the state and the constituency.
The 22 vigilante commanders shared their major challenges, saying that if it was not tackled it would hinder their prompt response towards security of life and property in the various communities.
Some of challenges they enumerated included lack of security vehicles, poor state of available security vehicles and motorcycles, lack of guns and bullets, seizure of security vehicles by the PG and Igwe, poor renumeration of vigilante operatives and many others.
Hon. Ayika promised to look into all the challenges facing the security operatives in the area.
'I will fuel all the vigilante vehicles under my constituency monthly to assist in the discharge of their duty,' Ayika promised.
Mr. Fidelis Nwankwo from Abba commended Hon. Ayika for his security concern and urged all to support what he described as a laudable move.
