NULGE WEEK 2020: Valentine C Ozigbo CELEBRATES LOCAL GOVERNMENT WORKERS
Valentine Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, has hailed the contribution of local government employees to the economy, describing them as “an integral ingredient to the development of any nation.”
Mr. Ozigbo made the assertion on Thursday, November 12, 2020 when he attended the 2020 edition of the Anambra State branch of the National Union of Local Government Employers (NULGE), week held in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
In his address to the workers, the respected business leader and philanthropist congratulated the leadership of NULGE in Anambra State on the unveiling of the Sir Austin Ezepue (NULGE) House and pledged to support the body in future developmental projects.
While appreciating Governor Willie Obiano for ensuring that worker’s wages are promptly paid, Ozigbo stated that he fully understands the importance of prioritizing worker’s welfare after being at the helm of affairs at Transcorp and managing over 2000 staff.
Speaking to journalists after the event, Ozigbo, who is a governorship aspirant in Anambra State, pledged to go beyond just worker’s welfare when he assumes office.
Valentine Ozigbo is the founder of Valentine Chineto Ozigbo Foundation, a leading non-governmental organization focused on empowering youth and women.
