*ABAGANA POLICE DIVISION SHUTDOWN & COLLAPSED INTO AREA COMMAD AWKA - DUE TO ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONAL INCOMPETENCY OF CSP MATHEW OKAFOR.(DPO ABAGANA)*

The Nigeria Police is the principal law enforcement and the lead security agency in Nigeria; it's General operational and administrative control

 of the IGP/AIGs/CPs respectively.

Information reaching us has it that a signal from the CP ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND has directed for the collapse of Abagana Divisional Police headquarters into Area Command Awka.

Independent investigation revealed that series of reports, public outcries and petitions have been submitted to the Police high command Awka.

 

Some serving officers who spoke to us on conditions of anonymity said that it is really very shameful, disgraceful, insulting and demeaning for all them all, especially for an Old Division like Abagana to be collapsed because of the unprofessional and operational insensitivity of the DPO and some serving officers. This is embarrassing, urgent redeemable measures needs to be taken by the leaders of thoughts and stakeholders in the three Communities which falls under the jurisdiction of the Division to urgently  right this wrong.

Another unfortunate thing about the whole ugly scenario is that all serving officers resident in Abagana will have to start relocating with their families temporarily to Awka or bear the burden of transporting themselves  to-and-fro to work  and risking their lives on daily basis pending when  the order is relapsed. 

Investigations from another source has it that the serving DPO - CSP MATTHEW OKAFOR'S has really done little or nothing since coming onboard to  elevate the infrastructural and operational standards of station to be at   pair with it's contemporaries: EG- All Area Commands in the state;

 Their is an urgent need to remedy the situation through negotiations with Police Hierarchy in the State by Community Stakeholders and push for posting of  a  more vibrant, energetic, professional and courageous cherrif with the desired administrative and operational sagacity and competence with a view of policing and overseeing the Division in the most professional manner inline with professionally, internationally and operational acceptable best practices. 

The COLLAPSING of the Division is inline with the CP's resolve to rejig the operational structure of the force in the state for better service delivery towards confronting the Security Challenges Facing the Nation and our dear State.

With this new development, the generality of Ndi Abagana, Enugwu-Agidi, Abba, for the meantime  will be left at the mercy of their fate or taking the extra pains of traveling some kilometers to Area Command Awka as the new jurisdiction to execute their complaints or security reports.

This is indeed a slap on Ndi Abagana as a community and a serious call to all stakeholders in these Communities (Abagana/Enugwu-Agidi/Abba) to save the situation taking into cognisance of the pressing security challenges facing the south east.
