Yesterday; May 20, 2921 The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) celebrated it's 57th Anniversary Air Force Base Makurdi
The President Muhammadu Buhari was represented by Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (Minister of Defense).
The 57th Celebration climaxed with the induction and unveiling of JF- 17 Thunder Aircraft with new modern smart facilities and digital combat R&D segments.
The anniversary air display and BREAK THE LAND COMBAT MANEUVER by NAF-7-20, NAF-7-21 & NAF-7-22 was wow! Even the birds were jealous.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is the air branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It is the youngest branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
It is one of the largest in Africa, consisting of about 15,000 personnel and aircraft including 8 Chinese Chengdu F-7s, 13 Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jets, 3 JF-17 Thunder Block II with more on order, and 12 on order Super Tucano aircraft, 24 M-346 FAs on order, Helicopter gunships, armed attack drones, and military transport aircraft.

To ensure the integrity of the airspace by gaining and maintaining control of the air while retaining a credible capacity to fulfill other airpower tasks demanded by national defence and security imperatives.

With all these state of the act machines, mission and vision Statement: one still wonders why insurgency is still the greatest problem facing the Nation?
