THE MAIDEN VOYAGE INTO PAGEANTRY IS IT A PROFIT MAKING VENTURE?
No, not at all, is purely a humanitarian venture in line with my foundation goal/objective Dr Chinedu Umeadi foundation on youth development. Recall in July this year my Foundation in collaboration with POST PRIMARY SCHOOL SERVICE COMMISSION (PPSSC) AWKA hosted 206 public secondary schools in Anambra State across the 6 Education Zones in an award/price presentations to over 24 students and their teachers on the Second Edition of DR. CHINEDU UMEADI FOUNDATION (DCUF) SCIENCE QUIZ AWARD CEREMONY. It was a very huge project for us all @DCUF and we are grateful for the success recorded. So that alone i never saw this one coming so soon. When i was approached, it was difficult for me to say no and for the fact is geared towards promoting values amongst young people i quickly gave a go ahead for the team on ground to liaise with the organization (NYCN) and come up with something inline with the Foundation (DCUF) goals.
Also, beauty pageant should not be associated with promiscuity; DCUF moved in to help change that narrative in the society and in the pageant industry. The pageant industry is a huge one when you see the economic impact to social economic growth of the economy in developed Nations. You know our people knows how to abuse opportunities and some of the sentiments against PAGEANTRY is what DCUF wished to correct too in our best little way hence why i gave the go ahead in full sponsorship.
WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OR OPPORTUNITIES THIS PAGEANTRY PRESENTS TO THE CONTESTANTS?
Well you see in life, what distinguishes Mr. A from Mr. B is opportunity. Like i said before the pageant industry in developed world presents a huge opportunity for young people, forget about all the ugly stories you hear about PAGEANTRY in our part of the world; is not same over here in developed Nations. The opportunities are enormous and i wish our young girls participating will take a good advantage of this opportunity. PAGEANTRY in developed world helps to objectify women and also in some instead helps shape and raise awareness. If you check #MissEarth; is a PAGEANTRY that promotes awareness on environmental issues facing the world. #MissIntercontinental is a PAGEANTRY that promotes international relations and goodwill and provides ambassadorial positions. So you see these are huge opportunities for bigger responsibility. Mind you also that PAGEANTRY provides also an opportunity for most contestants for self discovery by mere participation alone. Many after the competition embark on PET PROJECTS and so you. Then one of the most important opportunity in the ADA NJIKOKA PAGEANTRY is that it will promote COMMUNITY GOODWILL amongst the communities making up Njikoka area council because on the final day various communities will troop out en mass to support their own and this will promote societal connections. You see we need to do more and support women especially our young girls by creating more opportunities and platform for them to succeed and excel. You see, i can go on and on and the opportunities are enormous, remember the grand price is a car, so is not a cheap opportunity.
WHAT ARE WE EXPECTING ON THE GRAND FINALE?
Well you know am not in town, but I will follow live from here via online, I have already informed my team on ground and the organizers are also doing greatly from the feed back am getting. Is going to be very entertaining and I urge all to come out, support and cheer the contestants and watch how the winner will drive home with the grand price come Saturday 30/10/2021.
WHAT IS NEXT FOR DR. CHINEDU UMEADI FOUNDATION?
As you are already aware DCUF remains committed to service to humanity and community development and i want to thank all my team members on ground and all our beneficiaries.
