    ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND PARADES TWO SUSPECTS IN NKPOR INTERCEPTS ROBBERY AT UNION BANK NKPOR

    Anambra State Police Command has once again demonstrated readiness to crackdown on crime and criminal syndicates in the state by matching force to force against any criminal elements still within or around the state.

    Police Public Relations Officer ASP NKEIRUKA NWODE made this known in Awka while addressing newsmen started that the command has zero tolerance for crime in the state.

    ASP Nwode spoke as the command paraded three suspected notorious armed robbers in Ogidi Idemili North Local Government Area.

    The suspects: Michael Nwokedi - male - 18years from Ogbedibiq Village Onitsha and Praise Okoli - male - 18yrears of Awomama Imo state but resident in Nkpor were arrested on Tuesday 27th June 2017 at around 11pm when the group invaded Union Bank Nkpor and over powered security operatives on duty and tired them to a stake before breaking into the banking hall and the strong room respectively. Luck went against the gang as a a security conscious and vigilant resident noticed the unusual notice and put a distress call across to the command, and our Intelligent Tact Team Ogidi Division was alerted and they swung into action immediately leading to the arrest of the two suspects who are now helping the police in investigation and arrest of other gang members.

    The suspects were paraded and handed over to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation and arrests of those at large.

    ASP Nwode thanked the officers and men of the command for their proactive responds to the distress call and also thanked the members of the public for the useful and timely information which led to the arrest of some of the robbery gang members. The PPRO enjoined the public to feel free to offer similar useful information to the police to enable the police respond timely and quickly.

    The PPRO reiterated the Commissioner's determination to match criminals in the state force for force. She noted that the new CP has zero tolerance for crime in the state and that the command will do anything to clamp down on criminal elements in the state.
