The Student Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State is currently on one of its busiest schedules in their calendar as the Student Week is gradually coming to an end.
Yesterday, the University community recorded a bee hive of great cultural activities and displays by various traditional dance groups and some visiting institutions within the state as the Students Union Government held her cultural day Celebration yesterday Thursday 22/6/2017.
The event which witnessed variety of cultural displays from departments and State body chapters all trooped out in their numbers to represent and show case their rich cultural heritage. Thou the event witnessed poor turn out of students but was a success.
The Special assistant to the Governor on Students Matters Comrade Innocent Nduanya was in company of students from various higher institutions in the state and a host of political appointees who accompanied him to the event were all in their traditional attire to identify with the SUG Unizik as it marks its students cultural day celebration 2017.
The Vice President South National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) charged the students to be proactive and politically conscious of the happenings around them even as a student even as he charges them to be serious with their studies.
The SA to the Governor also enumerated the importance of his office to the students of Anambra State and every other students residing and schooling in the state. He urged the students to support the government of Chief Willie Obiano as the Governor is and remains the best Friendly Youths and Students Governor in Nigeria. He noted that his office operates an open door policy and urges the students to feel free to come and channel some of their challenges.
The SA noted that the government has taken serious and immediate decision on ifite road and promises the students that the pace of work on the road will improve in few days.
The SA thanked the student Union government and all other attending institutions and charged them to remain focus and strive for Excellence.
