WORLD YOUTH DAY 2017 - Comrade Nwabufo Nwankwo bags Prestigious Youth Ambassador Award (PYAA).
This years Awka Diocesan World Youth Day Celebrations 2017 may have come and gone, but the memories of the success recorded at this years event will linger for quite some good times in the hearts of the youths of the Diocese.
The event which was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church Awka witnessed an unprecedented turn of catholic youths from various parishes under the Diocese.
The World Youth Day which introduced by Pope John Paul II as far as 1985 was geared towards spiritual reinvigoration and renewal of the Evangelical mission of the church with the youths as a strong focal point.
The Chief Shepherd of the Diocese His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor ably represented by the Diocesan Chancellor Rev. Fr. Francis Chidume charged the youths to stand up and take charge and be good ambassadors of the Church and their families.
High point of the event was the inauguration of the CYON Patron & Patronesses and the presentation of Awards to some outstanding Youth Advocates who has distinguished themselves at various levels of leadership responsibilities and callings.
Prominent amongst the recipients was the Award to the Chief Servant of the State His Excellency Governor Willie Mmaduaburochukwu Obiano (Akpokuedike) as the Prestigious Youth Most Friendly Governor Award📦 along side a Youth Icon and a Diligent Youth Icon in Anambra State - Senior Comrade Nwabufo Nwankwo (Dikeora) who bagged the Prestigious Youth Ambassador Award (PYAA)🎁
Comrade Nwabufo Nwankwo who has distinguished himself both in character, leadership and responsibility in youth advocacy and representation in the state especially in the repository efforts in building and establishing a formidable Youth Council in Anambra State.
The Envoy Magazine discovered also that The National Youth Council of Nigeria Anambra State Chapter at a time was faced with a serious threat of who to champion the responsibility of stepping into the big leadership shoes in the council especially at a time where no or few opportunities where given to the youths to succeed in leadership at any position, then Nwabufo Nwankwo came onboard and took over the mantle of leadership and brushed up the face of the council leadership and placed Anambra State Council in its pride of place till date. His instrumental work in revitalizing and repositioning lost and past glory and relationaships in the Council especially when ever called upon speaks more of his commitment to make sure that nothing happens to the house for which he laboured so much to build. His outstanding and dedicated decade long service to the Youths and his continued support and over sight has earned his many accolades and Pride in the State and millions of recognition and awards in his gallery of award collections. These and many more intimidating antecedents stands the Senior Comrade Nwabufo Nwankwo out in Youth Affaires in the State and the South East political Zone.
