Dear young people, if we don't inspire ourselves, nobody will. The system have been so polluted against our own breakthrough but politically disguised as a barrier against the state.
From all indications, don't we think "our leaders" have failed us? Do we really think the current system is best for us? With the current situation of things in our dear Nation today, tell me one significant thing that a young aspiring young person will look up to and drive deep and sincere INSPIRATION? Share it here, I will like to know.
Today is Inspire My Thursday code on the platform The Envoy Magazine. I will also want to know, how many of "our leaders" are still a true source of inspiration to the young people? Also feel free to share. Very very few I guess. Insignificantly few of them still alive.
Dear young people, we must start looking at other directions for inspiration and motivation because is clearly of fact that "our leaders" designed the system against our own breakthrough.
Take a little time today and ponder on the ingenuity of our Leaders in the Nation which has cost this once great Nation to lose her Glory to other less blessed and less privileged counterpart Nation. What a tragedy.
Our leaders have reduced us to political harlots to satisfy their greedy unsatisfiable power/political urge and yet it seem not to bother majority of us.
Now, it doesn't bother you that this Nation imports toothpick, then I wonder what will. If it doesn't bother you that 80% of the bank deposits in this Nation belongs to 5% of our total population, then I wonder what else will bother you. If it doesn't bother you that the East, South and North in this Nation once survived peacefully and comfortably on palm produce, cocoa and groundnut, then I wonder what will.
Despite our numerical strength in this Nation, "our leaders" have perpetually made sure we are demographically reduced and relegated to the political back seat, just like the story of an elephant taking its share like a rat.
Do you ask why non of our so called leaders can sincerely and proudly support and sponsor a young person to top political position. What a tragedy?
Doesn't it bother you that Shehu Shagari became a federal legislator at the age of 30 and proceeded to been a minister at the age of35. Doesn't it bother us that M.T Mbu became a minister at the age of 25 and Nigeria's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom at the age of 26? Men really funny indeed how badly things have gone. Or are you not also aware that Richard Akinjide became minister of education at the age of 32? Today we have a President who at 72 or more doubles as the Commander in Chief and the Minister of Petroleum, but also note that Maitama Sule became oil minister at the age of 29. Wow...., what a shocker. Can this happen now in this current political dispensation? Am sure the possibility is like a camel passing through the eye of a needle. What a sorry state we found ourselves and it seems to getting worse as years go by.
The system has been designed never to be nor work in our favour. Our politicians have designed and coded the system to subject us to perpetual servitude knowing fully well the numerical strength in gift and genius. Do you ask why our young people make it classically outstanding outside the shores of this Nation? Simply because outside here, the system works and gives everybody equal opportunity.
During g electioneering, they employ us as special election consultants, election winning machines/morons, social media battalions/buffaloes against another, attack dogs/ pit bulls untamed, instigate many into thuggery etc.
There is no doubt that many challenges have constrained the Nigerian youth to the fringes of political leadership but the greater bulk of the salvation lies on us young people. Let us wake up and fact the reality of our challenges. Yes there is light at the end of the tunnel, don't fall sheepishly to that slangs, you must personally make sure is the real light that can give you hope and inspiration and not a candle light planted by your enemies which may not withstand the turbulent wind of the tide.
We must look elsewhere for our inspiration and breakthrough least we all perish by the stormy system. We must not just echo #OUR_MUMU_DON_DO but also ready to show it by our new attitude to issues that bother and concern us.
So help us God...!
