In line with our constitutional responsibilities in delivering quality Police services that will be accessible to the generality of the people in in guaranteeing a safe secure and peaceful society through professional and adequate policing the Anambra State Police Command has once again lived up to the expectation in curbing crime and criminality in the state to the lowest possible ebb.
The Commissioner of Police - CP Garba Baba Umar psc has consequently warned that Peace in the state under his watch is paramount and not negotiable warning criminal elements in the state to repent come forward for rehabilitation and reformation or to leave the state. The Commissioner of Police has pointed out the readiness of officers and men of the command to match any reminant of criminality in the state forced to force until lasting peace is achieved in the state.
Consequently, the Police Command on Friday 13th October, 2017 foiled a kidnap syndicate in Obosi area in Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State following an intelligent report and cooperation of members of the public abs the family of the kidnap victim.
Mr. Nnamdi Ibru aged 32 years was kidnapped in a filing station and was whisked away by a gang of 4 armed bandit to an unknown destination.
The gang after some days reached out to the victims family and made a ransom demand of 20 Million naira.
The report reached the COMMAND and a team of special crack team swung into action.
On the day of payment of the ransom, through a coordinated and professional trail by the special crack team of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) attached to the Command the gang was tricked into believing the bag contained the 20million and they were trailed into their hide out.
Getting a wind of being trailed the gang picked fire against the Police team.
While trying to escape, the gang shot and injured the victim and abandoned him in the den and flee.
During the fire exchange between the gang and the Police two gang members were shot dead and four others escaped with various degrees of bullet wounds.
The victim was rescued alive and has seen be given adequate medical attention and reunited with his family.
While appreciating the efforts and success recorded in this operation showcased today the State Police COMMAND warn in strong terms ahead of the November 18 gubernatorial election that parents should please put their wards activities in check as the Command will not take for granted any act likely to break down law and order in the State.

Also the Command warn in stronger terns against rumour peddlers in the state to desist from such as the command will not take such for granted .
