Mayor Njikoka - Hon. George Ozor tasks Njikoka Youths on the importance of a Healthy Life. "Smoking will never make you a big boy or a big girl - Hon. Ozor, as the TC Chairman celebrates World_No_Tobacco_Day 2017 with the Youths of Njikoka.

Today, the World Health Organization (WHO) marks the WORLD_NO_TOBACCO_DAY 2017 with the #Theme: "Tobacco - a threat to development".

Today is been celebrated across the world to educate and sensitize the world about the dangers of tobacco consumption and the health implications therefore.

World Health Organization (WHO) today urges government at all levels, civil society organizations, cooperate bodies etc to join in the campaign to curb the increasing death rate associated with tobacco consumption.

In that spirit, the Transition Chairman Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State Hon. GEORGE OZOR has taken a bold step in taking the campaign to the grassroot in his local area Council as he addressed news men in his office today.

The Chairman who charged the Youth leaders in the local area council today admonishing them to shun social vices and Youths restiveness and be good ambassadors of the Youth constituency.

As a Youth leader, you must not be found wanting in any social ill associated with negativism. You must be found worthy in character and all round affaires of life. You must be an inspection to the youths you have been placed as their leader. Your actions on and off public sight but reflect the trust and responsibility of your positions. You must be able and  courageous enough to correct the youths who are diverting from the required principles of survival. Your hands and actions must be clean and worthy of emulation before you can boldly effect corrective measures else you may be ridiculing your self and your position. Today is world No_Tobacco_Day, if I conduct a survey here now am sure some good percentage of us sitting here are hard smokers of various substances. Today is not a day of judgement or condemnation but a day which gives us an opportunity to reflect on the health hazards of some of our bad habits like smoking. Just imagine you are diagnosed of lung cancer at this your youthful age? What message will you have passed to your generation or family? So today if your a smoker or not the message is "Smoking is bad, smoking kills, smoking is very dangerous to your health". We must take this campaign to all our members and all the youth organization in Njikoka. Remember, in Anambra state, Njikoka sets the pace, we are not the largest nor the richest, but we show the path others follow. I will like us to organize a more enlarged house campaign to this regards soon so the message goes deep to the grassroot. Take the message home today, you know your smoker friend's, talk to them, is not going to be easy especially the " Chain - Smokers" just do your best, is a duty you owe as a leader. Thank you for today, let's join hands and build our Local Government, let's join hands and Build our State, we have not any other state, let's support the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in building a better and a transformed Anambra state, because is for your own good and good of your generations.
