John F. Kennedy once said that "we need to celebrate the past to awaken the future".
One of the things worth celebrating about Atiku Abubakar is his passion for taking up challenges that culminate in changing the lives of the people for good.
For example, before 1999, telephone was out of the reach of the ordinary People of this country. We were told that telephone was not for the poor. Our telecommunications sector was a complete mess.
But when the responsibility fell on him as the head of the Economic council, he did not run away. He put on his thinking cap , pulled up his sleeves , assembled the best team and went to work .
The result is that today our telecom sector is thriving, virtually every Nigerian has access to telephone and hundreds of thousands of our citizens are directly and indirectly employed in this sector.
As John C. Maxwell said "a proven leader always has a proven track record".
As we approach 2023 with our myriad of problems in education, insecurity, unemployment and public power supply, let us remember Atiku Abubakar's proven track record of delivering for the people.
As president of Nigeria from May 29,2023, he will do it again.
